Leslie Chapman

Psychotherapist

I am a psychotherapist based in Aldershot, on the Surrey/Hampshire borders.  I work psychoanalytically, which means that I aim to provide a secure space for people to explore and gain a greater awareness of the underlying reasons for troublesome emotions, thoughts, behaviours or relationships that they may be experiencing.  Such an awareness enables individuals to start seeing their present day lives and difficulties in a new light, and this opens up the possibility for a whole new set of choices and ways of being.

Specific problems that can be explored and addressed include:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • panic attacks
  • bereavement and loss
  • phobia, e.g. fear of open or closed spaces, fear of particular animals, etc
  • obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • chronic fatigue syndrome (ME)
  • eating disorders
  • problems with body image
  • work related stress
  • relationship problems, including sexual difficulties
  • loneliness and isolation
  • a sense of unhappiness or discontentment with life
